GrabaSoft iCfree is a simple video capture application. This is version 2.0 and is an Alpha version. It is essensially a "Skinned" version of version 1.0. Due to the haste in writting this application, it is not particularly user friendly and there is no user-manual or help. The most important point to note is that you must set the video compression before recording. After opening the application, you will be prompted to select a video compression method when you press the record button for the first time. DO NOT select uncompressed video, otherwise you will find your hard disk space will be used up rather quickly. I recommend you aquire the K-Lite Codec Pack from http://www.codecguide.com/ to increase your choice of codec. I recommend you select Intel Indeo, DivX or XVid codec. An unattended recording will break down into 30 minute junks and makes the application ideal as a video monitoring and security system.
